Beautiful Rainy Day in OB

A poem for my sweet Dylan seems appropriate on a day like today.

Dear Dylan:

The dolphins danced in the waves today.
A red-tailed hawk floated tirelessly in the clouds.
A rainbow appeared over the waves at the OB Pier.
The pelicans flew in formation to make a smile.
The hummingbirds flitted from branch to branch.
The glow of the orange crescent moon shone brightly.

And the memory of you keeps my heart alive
and open to all that nature has to offer.

Thank you Dylan,
for being my darling, curious,
loquacious and compassionate son.

Mom's Potluck

I'm heading to the Mom's potluck hosted by Denise Hankins and The Jenna Druck Foundation. Every year Mom's gather with their child's favorite food item to share. Along with a snack, each mom brings a flower as a reminder of their beautiful child.
I will bring Dylan's favorite pumpkin muffins. The recipe was chosen from the What to Expect When Expecting book that I read while pregnant with Dylan. I loved the recipe since it contained no sugar and was a healthy alternative to store-bought muffins. He loved the raisins and pumpkin flavor. Joyful.

Mothers of Angels is a safe place to share your stories, photos, thoughts, insights and dreams about your beautiful child, who is now an angel.
This is a place to share your love story with those who absolutely understand.
We will never lose touch of our child not living on this earth. As Ken Druck (Jenna Druck Foundation) once said, "We now have a relationship that is spiritual rather than physical."

My mission is to keep the love alive with photos, poems, and stories of my precious Dylan Reilly. It has been four years since Dylan passed, and I want to be reminded of the joy of being a mom to him. "Motherhood" has changed forever. A commitment to love and cherish my son will never go away.

I offer this as a forum to share your stories along with me.

Namaste,
Leslie Reilly
